The Lee University Film Society seeks to foster discussion, criticism, and production of narrative and documentary film by students, staff, and faculty. They hold weekly film showings and discussions of popular and obscure films to help educate the student body in the realm of film and cinematography.
I wanted the logo to imitate the way filming lighting casts shadows, and I experimented with transparency with the typography. The typeface chosen is more rounded and diffused, like lighting. I would not settle for overused film imagery for this logo, so I chose a more sophisticated yet subtle imagery for this logo.
At the same time, I needed the logo to be able to break back down to black white and grey, so I produced an alternate option for the logo with completely solid letters.
